Waltham Forest Young Peoples Housing Project (YPHP) was set up in April 1987 to provide good quality, temporary accommodation for young single homeless people mainly of Afro-Caribbean origin with low to medium support needs. We have 20 bed spaces available in 3 hostels, for use by male and female tenants. Our aim is to enable the young people that we work with to achieve social and economic independence by assisting them in making positive choices about their lives, encouraging personal development and assisting them in accessing more long–term housing.
We do this by offering support services which include housing support, career development, income maximization, social and life skills training, mediation, advocacy, sign posting, move-on and re-settlement.
We accept young people through selected referral agencies within Waltham Forest. The young people that we work with need to be:-
